Pet Friendly Accommodation, Tours, Grief Therapy, Stories + More

Here are some amazing businesses - not all local - who offer some wonderful services.

Healing Pet Loss With Arts Therapy

Enduring Bonds is an arts-based therapeutic group to  explore various experiences of pet loss.

In this program we are offering a safe space to support people who have lost a pet and to share with others.

The group is ideal for anyone curious and interested in using a creative approach to heal, process, remember, and celebrate your beloved pet.

Jane and Emma, the facilitators of this group are qualified art therapists and counsellors. Both are passionate about animals and have  recently experienced the pain of losing their beloved dogs Baxter and Gus.

Based on their own experience of grief and loss they felt moved to establish this group.

1:1 sessions are also available

Luxurious Pet Friendly Retreat

Wiggley Bottom Farm offers you a luxurious pet-friendly retreat with three types of accommodation to suit your group - ideal for couples, friends or family.

Take a break from your everyday routine and recharge with an authentic farm stay experience – we have geese (who will welcome you in the driveway on arrival), horses agisting in surrounding paddocks for you to say hello to over the fence, miniature goats in the top paddock for you to help feed and chat to, and three resident dogs who may or may not be here when you come to stay.  They’re very friendly and we keep them enclosed so all dogs on the property can happily co-exist, or play together supervised once they’ve ‘met’.

'The Entire Property' accommodates up to 8 people, across three dwellings sharing 15 acres of lush countryside. Each accommodation is self-contained and has an area for your pooch.  The house and the apartment have staggering views and decks to sit out on, the cottage is away from everyone else and has twice the space of the apartment, and BBQ facilities and outdoor seating for summer nights.

Book 'The Entire Property' or choose from 'The Apartment', 'The Cottage' or 'The House'.

People and Doggy Heaven

“Peaceful, pet friendly perfection! We had a great stay at this unique cottage with our 2 dogs. The dog friendly yard was exactly what we were looking for. The cottage has been thoughtfully set up with everything you could need plus more.” – Stephanie, October 2018.

We are bayside dog owners that love to travel with our dogs. Having been disappointed with so called pet friendly accommodation we decided to do it ourselves.

Lauri’s Cottage is truly dog (and owner) friendly.

  • Dogs welcome inside

  • Doggy couch in the lounge room

  • Large secure pen with large kennel. You can leave your dogs safely if you wish to go to some of the fantastic local restaurants

  • Fenced in outside area – 2m high fences

  • Large dam to go swimming

  • Bedding, bowls and towels provided.

  • Open fires to curl up beside in cooler months.

For the humans

  • Less than 10 minutes to Daylesford and the delights of the region

  • Fabulous cottage with modern facilities

  • Peaceful surroundings with lots of flora and fauna

  • Open fires in cooler months or relaxing on the deck overlooking the dam when its warm

  • Seasonal goodies from the garden – berries, tomatoes.

Dogs of Bayside

Tell your dogs story...

The Dogs of Bayside in Melbourne, Australia on the surface, seem to lead an easy, privileged life.

Sometimes, not all is as it seems.

Here are their stories.

And if you would like to add your dog, contact us, there are a variety of ways that we can help you tell their story.

Dog Friendly Wine Tours

Would you love to do a wine tour in the beautiful Yarra Valley with your pooch by your side?

Pooches & Pinot offer exactly that - we collect you and your pooch from your accommodation (or your Bayside
home) and take you on the best day out ever, visiting pet-friendly cellar doors and venues where your pooch is welcomed with open arms.

You get to sip and sample your way around the picturesque region like a VIP, with your own host and driver, Jeff. He is well loved in the region and he’ll be with you and your pup the whole tour.

If your dog is elderly, has separation anxiety, or is a rescue not happy to be left alone – our tours are ideal, as Jeff
will be with them, looking after them as he would his own (he is Dad to a rescue Koolie Henry and very elderly Schnoodle, George).

Try a gin tasting paddle, or a local beer and cider and enjoy a slap up lunch
– you’ll have all the fun and none of the responsibility.

We can even recommend pooch friendly
fabulous places for you to stay if you want to stay and play in the valley.
