Welcome to the Bayside Dog Owners Group

Who are we and what are we about?

Bayside Dog Owners Group (affectionately known as BDogs) is a Facebook group that was started by myself, Kate Mularczyk, on the 13th of October 2015.

The City of Bayside has a very large community of dog owners (well over 12,000 dogs) and I wanted to create a safe place for their owners to 'meet' and talk about everything to do with our furry family members. It is a positive and supportive group of like-minded "dog" people!

In this context, Bayside not only relates to the Bayside City Council boundaries but the councils surrounding like Kingston, City of Port Phillip, Glen Eira and City of Frankston. In essence, it really is for those who live, work or play in the area.

Business Members can operate/reside out of these areas but must also service the Bayside Community.

The Facebook group is a closed group which means that those who aren't members can't see who is a member nor can they see what is posted. This creates a safe space for us all.

Currently, we have in excess of 9,000 members and the numbers are increasing every day. We pride ourselves in being an all-inclusive community where it doesn't matter what breed of dog you have or how many. Our discussions range from health issues to where to get the dog groomed to behavioural training and, of course, a lot of photo sharing.

Since we began, we have raised in excess of $25,000 for dog related charities such as RSPCA,

Australian Animal Protection Society, Pet Medical Crisis, Pets of the Homeless, Dogs for Kids, Love Your Pet, Love Your Vet and we currently sponsor TWO Story Dogs.

The group is moderated by myself and two amazing moderators, Wendy and Michelle. Our aim is to keep the group respectful and understanding of others viewpoints. And to have a lot of laughs along the way!

We pride ourselves on 'Connecting Community' This means not only connecting other dog owners but also connecting the positives of pet ownership within the community as a whole.
