Finn, the inspiration for this group, passed away at home on Wednesday 5th March, 2025 aged 14 years and 9 months - surrounded by love.

He joined our family in 2011 at the age of 9 months and quickly became loved by many - mainly due to his good looks and his friendly personality.

​

It seems like his purpose in life was to bring joy and to make people happy. We were always stopped in the street, at the beach and at parks with people wanting to pat him and ask what breed he was and if he shed much! ha ha (the answer to the last bit was hell yes!)

​

The outpouring of love we have received on the news of his crossing the Rainbow Bridge has been breathtaking really. Not only in Bayside Dog Owners Group on Facebook, on other social media platforms and, of course, in 'real life'.  People from all parts of our lives from family, friends, overseas, people we see in the street, and parks have been touched by him in life and in his passing.

 

We are forever grateful for his unconditional love, his trust and zest for living.

Luna was born on the same day, at the same place to the same parents - yes they are littermates. However, Luna came into our lives at the age of 7 years as her previous family circumstances changed and gosh that was just perfect for us! 

She was an amazing addition to our family and she and Finn had an amazing relationship. The two of them together ellicited many oohs and aahs from passers by. 
 

She died at home at the age of 15 years and 4 months in our arms.

She was my shadow and she was loved by so many. A gentle soul who made our world a much better place.
